| Kasey Kahne led twice for 41 laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in today’s Pennsylvania 500. Kahne took the honor for the second time this season. The Pennsylvania 500 was the first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Kahne has led since Infineon (Sonoma, Calif.) Raceway (race No. 16) where he led four laps. Kahne has led at least one lap in nine of the 21 races this season for a total of 185 laps.
Kahne was also the WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race in the Pocono 500 here this past June, leading a race-high 69 laps.
Kahne scored a seventh-place finish in the race, his 11th top-10 of the 2008 season.
UNOFFICIALLY Kahne is seventh in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship standings, 86 points behind sixth-place Jeff Gordon and three ahead of eighth-place Greg Biffle.
Kyle Busch leads Jimmie Johnson by one race (7-5) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader standings entering the Pennsylvania 500.
