| Ron Hornaday Jr. earned WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in tonight’s Power Stroke Diesel 200. Hornaday Jr. led twice for 153 laps and was one of just three drivers to lead a lap in the event. He has led at least one lap in 12 of the 14 races for a total of 714 laps, the most by any other driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series.
Hornaday Jr. scored a second place finish in the race, .484 seconds behind race winner Johnny Benson. He grabbed his seventh top-five and 10th top-10 of the season.
Hornaday Jr. trails Benson by 15 points for the lead in the series championship standings. He holds a 16-point edge over third-place Matt Crafton and 140 on fourth-place Rick Crawford.
Ron Hornaday Jr. leads Todd Bodine by two races (5-3) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader standings.
HORNADAY JR. QUOTES: “VFW has been supporting us quite a bit this year and I like to do it for all our troops and everything but it didn’t work out too well. Johnny was a little better than we were through the middle and I just don’t know, that second set of tires, they were scuffs. We did a qualifying run on them and the first set really rolled the center good. But other than that, we’ll take second. He didn’t get too far ahead in points on us so we’ll take that and go on.”
