Johnson won the Pepsi 500, crossing the finish line 2.076 seconds ahead of second-place Greg Biffle. He claimed his third victory of the season. In 25 races he has scored eight top-fives and 13 top-10s.

Johnson has led at least one lap in 19 races this season and a total of 966 laps. He is second overall in total number of laps led.

Kyle Busch leads Jimmie Johnson by three races (9-6) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader standings.

JOHNSON QUOTES: “Awesome racecar all night long. It was really good in the sun and, fortunately, we tried a couple of things from time to time to see where the track was going, adjustment-wise, and certainly hurt our car and really just put it back. And we found a direction with some tire pressure that worked and really didn’t tough much all night long. The car was really fast and good and I think the track came to us. Instead of us chasing the track changing it, it really came our direction. The car was just awesome all night long. More than anything I’m happy to close the deal. It’s very, very rare to have a car that dominant. In most cases you end up doing something stupid. I’m guilty of that in past so it’s nice to close the deal and lead all those laps and win the race.”
