WIX Filters To Provide Filters For Victory Junction Gang Camp

Wednesday, 26 January 2005

WIX Filters recently announced it will donate oil, air and fuel filters to meet all the Victory Junction Gang Camp’s automotive and heavy equipment filter needs for 2005.
Victory Junction will use the filters to keep its vans, trucks, lawn equipment, tractors and other maintenance vehicles and machinery running in top condition.
“Victory Junction depends on the generous support of individuals, organizations, and companies such as WIX. WIX has supplied filters to benefit each camp vehicle used to transport our special needs campers and their families, plus the equipment required to operate and maintain our unique facility,” said Richard Petty, co-founder, Victory Junction Gang Camp. “WIX’s thoughtful contribution will dramatically lower our engine maintenance expenses and enable us to apply those resources directly toward our mission of enriching the lives of children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses.”
Greg Rhyne, a member of the WIX Filters racing filters engineering team, realized a potential need and contacted Victory Junction to discuss opportunities for WIX to help. Rhyne submitted his idea through the WIX Winning Ways program, which encourages WIX Filters employees to propose three ideas per month that will contribute to the success of the company.
“I’m glad that we are able to do a small part this year to help the camp continue its important work with children who have serious illnesses,” said Rhyne. “In our interactions with a number of NASCAR race teams we’ve seen the positive impact Victory Junction has on the lives of children and the passion with which many NASCAR teams support the camp.”
WIX brand manager Bruce Johnston said WIX’s partnership with Victory Junction represents a natural extension of WIX’s relationships within the NASCAR community.
“Since Kyle and Pattie Petty founded the camp in honor of their late son Adam, the NASCAR family has shown tremendous support for the mission of Victory Junction,” said Johnston. “It seems only natural for our brand that is so heavily involved at the professional racetrack to be equally supportive of this charity that is so close to the hearts of many NASCAR drivers, owners, team members and fans.”
The Victory Junction Gang Camp was founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife, Pattie. Located in Randleman, N.C. on land donated by NASCAR legend Richard Petty and his wife, Lynda, the camp is free of charge to children and their families and is the only year-round multi-disease facility of its kind in the Carolinas and Virginia. It is solely supported by contributions and donations from corporations, individuals and foundations.
