Monday, 18 July 2005

WIX Filters recently presented $1,000 checks to each of six FFA chapters who earned bonus awards through their participation in the WIX Filters/FFA box top program.
“Working with the FFA is an investment in the future of agriculture and, therefore, in the future of America,” said Bruce Johnston, brand manager, WIX Filters. “That’s why each year, the WIX Filters/FFA box top program is one of our most popular promotions.”
For 18 years, WIX Filters has sponsored the box top program benefiting FFA chapters throughout the country. Participating chapters encourage businesses and individuals in their home communities to use WIX oil, air and fuel filters and turn in box tops, which the chapters redeem for a 25-cent per box top contribution from WIX.
This year, the WIX Filters/FFA box top promotion provided a total of $50,758.50 to local FFA chapters, including the six $1,000 bonus awards for chapters meeting the following criteria: most overall box tops redeemed during the program period; highest percentage increase in box top redemption from 2004-2005 and top four chapters based on number of box tops redeemed per member.
2005 WIX Filters /FFA box top program bonus awards were presented to the following chapters: most overall box tops redeemed – Turkey Creek FFA, Plant City, Fla. (9,106 WIX Filters box tops); highest percentage increase from 2004 – 2005 – RTR FFA, Tyler, Minn. (1016.29 percent); top four chapters in per-member box top redemptions – Shelby FFA, Shelby, Mont. (323 per member), Reardon FFA, Reardon, Wash. (177.55 per member), South Holt FFA, Oregon, Mo. (109.43 per member) and Hemingford FFA, Hemingford, Neb. (85.77 per member).
“The WIX Filters/FFA box top program enables agribusinesses and other rural enterprises and individuals to realize the double benefit of better engine protection and support for rural America’s future leaders,” Johnston said.
